Robert Mathis was a four-year starter at Alabama A&M University. While there, he established himself as one of the most dominant defensive players in NCAA 1-AA history and set a NCAA 1-AA record with 20 sacks during his senior season.

In 2003, Robert Mathis was selected by the Indianapolis Colts with the 138th selection in the NFL draft. As a rookie, he made an immediate impact playing in all 16 regular season games and recording 20 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. In year two of his career, he was able to almost double his output from his rookie season by recording 36 tackles, 10.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.

Robert Mathis has established himself as a force on the Colts defense. He has gone on to set a Colts franchise record by recording at least one sack in each of 8 consecutive games. In 2005, he recorded 65 tackles, 9.5 sacks and forced 6 fumbles during the regular season and helped the Colts defeat the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI.  In 2008, Mathis had one of the best years of his careers. He recorded 48 tackles, 11.5 sacks and 5 forced fumbles. At season's end, he was selected to the 2009 NFL Pro Bowl.

Robert Mathis is living proof to football players everywhere that with hard work and determination you can succeed at the highest level.
